Jason Holt: Before / After
Jason Holt: Before / After
I began training after high school because I got sick of being the skinny kid.  I was always very athletic but, my size held me back in some endeavors.  While in college it always seemed as if the popular guys were always in great shape.  I was determined to turn my 6'1", 155lb scrawny body into something that everyone would admire at any cost.

When I started I made gains fairly quickly and probably gained about 15lbs within a few months.  It still wasn't enough though.  After doing some reading I realized that some of the pro bodybuilders would "bulk up" in order to gain mass.  My mind was made up at that point.  I went out and bought some high-calorie protein and started eating everything in site.

I want you to really understand what I mean by everything.  I was eating 12 whole eggs in the morning with cheese sprinkiled on top and a huge bowl of oats.  It would take me an hour just to eat breakfast!!I was eating 16oz of chicken and two white baked potatoes in one sitting for some of my other meals.  All of this on top of the high calorie weight-gaining shakes and while living a frat-boy lifestyle which included tons of keg-beer and "hunch-punch".  I ballooned up to 265lbs.  Everyone said I was jacked but, I never wanted to take my shirt off in front of people.  I had come to the realization that I was fat and that I needed to start dieting.  At first I just decreased calories gradually.

I managed to get down to 225lbs.  I was still holding some fat but, thanks to having pretty good genetics I was relatively lean.  I still wasn't satisfied though and I knew I needed to come up with another strategy.  I started to read about ketogenic diets and I decided that was the way to go.  Man was in for a surprise!

I got down to a very depleted, wafer-thin 180lbs.  I had lost tons of muscle and was very disappointed that I had put in so much hard work to be almost right back were I started.  I decided to go back to eating a balanced diet to gain some of the muscle back.  My body rebounded really quickly and I got back up to about 200lbs at about 11% body fat.  I still had the itch to be into the sub 9% range so I looked for a new strategy.

I fell upon this website through www.bodybuilding.com and more specifically Jamerjay's bodyspace.  I have a similar body structure to him (I'm tall and have small joints) and came to the conclusion that I should try whatever he was doing to get into the shape that he displays.

I have been using the carb-cycling methods for the past three months and I have never been in better shape.  I have managed to get really lean while carb-cycling and still staying very full.

I have structured my diet almost exactly the way it is depicted here on this site.  Carb-cycling is the perfect method to get lean and spare muscle.  I can't thank you enough for the information on this site.

Thanks so much Skip and God bless.
